Your Thoughts On The New Flatform Shoe

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Yes, you read right, and no, I don't have a P& F syndrome problem. I'm talking about the birth of the new "Flatform". A cross-breed of flats and platforms. Spring 2011's runway has been littered with them. What do you think?
I think this black pair is okay although personally I still hugely prefer my ankle breaking Dany's and my would be mine soon Lita's.
Flatforms have a huge tendency to look dowdy and I personally think they would look hideous on larger feet. Plus being the height that I am, I still prefer the towering tall shoes from past seasons. They just scream haute and sexy a lot more than these tame versions. They also look a lot more interesting. All shoes in these photos are from designer labels like Alexander Wang, Philip Lim, etc. I wouldn't spend a thousand dollars on shoes that are as plain as these.

Maybe one pair for everyday errands would be okay but I certainly don't seem myself going
ga-ga over them anytime soon.

Check out this vintage pair I found while surfing though! Cute!

It's my daughter's fashion show today! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. My tummy is a mess! LOL! I promise to post a lot of photos. It's stage-mom time! See you later! :)

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of this trend- hopefully it will pass quickly. I agree that these look pretty awful on bigger feet. Oh well. Hope your daughter has an awesome fashion show!

HOpe the show went great and hope you share some photos. I was excited about this trend because it looks like something I could wear with kids. And the idea of adding height without a heel was cool. But agree the look of normal heel platforms are definitely better.

I'm not a huge fan, but I sort of like the second shoe. I'm on the fence. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting - I really appreciate it!

Love the first one! It kinda tricks the eye into making it look like a regular pair of heels.

This would help me though. I have flat feet and it hurts like crap to wear normal heels.

I hope this catches on so that there'll be cheaper (and prettier) alternatives. :)

I don’t know what to think about the flatforms, they look very peculiar and it looks like you have some flat feet, maybe I am wrong but I am not convinced yet. I am actually pretty skeptical about any platform shoes, they are not made for everybody and you always have to try them out. I have seen some jil sander shoes with neon platform soles, those shoes looked fabulous

I haven't heard of these "flatforms" yet- I think maybe my feet are too big though haha?

They remind me of those chunky-soled Skechers sandals I used to love waaay back then. Never again! Haha! I'm definitely not going with this trend.
