What I Wore Today: Skirting (not an) Issue

Since all of you gave me such positive comments yesterday (love you, thank you!), I decided to give "the skirt" another try today. =)


A little info about the skirt: This skirt actually belonged to my grandma from the eighties. It used to be a maxi skirt. During one of my possessed sewing frenzies, I decided to chop a major part of it off. I am now feeling a bit of remorse for doing that since maxi skirts are all the rage this season but I have to live with my semi-mistake. I think making it shorter gives it a more classic cut thus also lending it more longevity, style-wise. I just wish I waited a bit longer before chopping off a huge chunk of it so I could've worn it as a maxi first.

and yes, in case some of you are wondering, I bought the same blouse in two different colors =)

The Perfect Pair Of Clogs

I've been wanting to purchase a pair of clogs for the longest time but something was always holding me back. And that's weird for me cause I am very, very impulsive when it comes to shoes.

Now I know why! Destiny and the universe, together as one, joining forces, conspired for me to wait for these to come out:

My perfect pair of clogs in all their 5 inch glory!!! (approx. could be 6"? I just know they're sky- high and perfect! hehe)

I am supposed to be on a self-imposed shopping ban but how could I possibly have passed these up? Shoes like these only enter your life once in a blue moon. I have seen A LOT of different variations on the "clog" but a lot of the designs have put me off. I think that when the heel of a clog is too low, it can make you look quite dowdy. I also find that a lot of the pairs available in the market have quite a large entry way leaving my feet uncomfortable and un-welcome inside.

New Born Baby Blog

(this is exactly the outfit I mentioned in an earlier blog that I wished I had taken a photo of. I am in love with those shoes)

Remember Lana? I mentioned her a couple times on my blog already. She's a good friend of mine and also has incredible personal style. Lana just joined the "blogosphere" a few days ago with her new born baby blog called "hautepot" on tumblr.

If there was one closet in the world I could raid, it would be hers. Our styles are very similar and we're almost the same size so alterations wouldn't be a problem ;)hint, hint. Lana is also a big shot (hehe) executive in one of our country's biggest corporations so her closet is generously drizzled with name brands. When we're out together, there is always something of hers that I want, and I think the envy factor is vice versa since we seem to have almost the same styles of shoes in our possession without talking about it.

What I Wore Today: Something Different

I don't usually dress this way. It's not that I'm not particularly fond of skirts, it's just that the idea of wearing them doesn't enter my mind usually while I'm dressing up. Yesterday however, (maybe it was the hangover or lack of water/semi-dehydration thinking)I felt the undying need to put on a skirt. Haha, hurray, what a milestone ( for me!).

I guess I was a little bit inspired by the 1950's. Remember all those big poodle skirts, their oxfords worn with socks, soda pop and ice cream parlors?

What I Wore Today: Welcome To The Jungle

We were supposed to go to Fat Mike's again last night to meet a few friends, but around 11:30, they still weren't there so we decided to hit No.38 Jupiter instead to catch the set of another friends band, The Bouncin' Bebe Boys.

It was my first time in 38 but i have to say, I really like the place. it has a very relaxed, cozy and clean atmosphere that's very conducive for drinking. hehe. I also like their macho mug A LOT.

That's probably why I woke up today with a stinking hangover and no water! Such a pain. It totally slipped our minds that the tank in our building is scheduled for cleaning today.

I just want to take a shower already!!! But I have to wait 'til around 2pm-4pm for the water service to return.

No drinking for me tonight...I think, or at least plan to NOT. How's your Saturday hangover? =)

What I Wore Today: Granny Paisley

Sorry if I'm a bit "tired-looking". These shots were taken late in the day after I finished doing all my errands. Dennis sent our maid away a couple of days ago and the replacement hasn't come in yet so my days have been crazy. I don't have much leisure time anymore. Most of my day revolves around cleaning the house, getting our daughter ready for school, taking her and fetching her from school, cooking meals, and cleaning up again. I'm a bit obsessive compulsive when it comes to cleanliness that's why almost my entire day is spent cleaning. By 6pm which is around the time we took the photos, I am officially spent.
I also wore the same pair of shorts two days in a row because we're having our clothes laundered now (I hate doing the laundry and folding clothes). Laundry bills can shoot up so much without you noticing it. Especially when you have a lot of towels and linens washed. I need to be extra resourceful, when it comes to clothing. I don't wanna put a dent in my monthly shoe budget ;)
Super, super tired. Might call it in early tonight...A glass of wine and the telly sounds really good right about now...Sweet dreams, world =)

What I Wore Today: Protest

I am in protest of all the crime, war and bombings that seem to be so rampant lately. Everyone just needs to chill out, relax and learn how to respect each other and their beliefs. It's so much easier to communicate now with all the technology around but we still don't put it to good use. Obama can just text whoever in the middle east and tell them the reason why the states have been bombing the shit of of them since Bush and the middle east could just text back and tell him their side of the story. If things don't work out through text, get a Blackberry plan so they can call each other toll free.

I just think that a lot of the violence now is unnecessary. Probably made up mostly of pride and the feeling that you've already dug your hole too deep and might as well go along with it. Bullshit. We all have problems, theirs is just on a bigger scale but it's still just a problem. If we all reacted like these people then there'd be dead people left and right especially during rush hour traffic.


This is why Rage Against The Machine is in rage against the machine! You all can't pull it together...but it is possible...

should've worn my cowboy boots instead...oh well...

What I Wore Today: 101

Like I said, it's been rainy lately. Didn't have much to do, just a couple of errands to run so no need really to dress up. Instead, I just decided to have fun with it. Rainboots make me do that...maybe it's the anticipation of stepping into puddles or the fact that my pair is quite quirky with a lot of doggies on it...but there is definitely something that makes me not take fashion too seriously once my feet step into these rubber booties.

Stone Temple Pilots live in Manila!!!! AAAAAAAAyyyyeeeeeee! I'm so excited! Can't wait to buy my ticket. I feel like I'm 13 again and it's 1992! Gotta get my grunge on, polish those docs and get concert ready for March 9!!! Tickets aren't for sale on ticketnet YET, I'll update as soon as they're out.
I used to love ALL the songs on this album, memorized them, even tried to play them on guitar. STP was epic, brings back so many fond childhood memories, rather memories of lots of "teenage angst"...which was also kinda fun back then. We were kinda "emo" too I guess (but with more substance)! Haha!

What I Wore Today: 65 Laurel Canyon

Hello lovelies! I'm back after being in bed with a bad case of the flu for almost a week. Feeling much better now...but I passed it on to Dennis.
Weather has been weird, still quite cool but then it gets really hot sometime around 2pm, maybe that's why almost everyone around me has been getting sick. Anyway...

Bought these bell-bottoms from Topshop years ago but they were and still remain my most favorite pair of pants ever. I've been everywhere searching for a similar pair but I can't seem to find any. To my horror, I noticed yesterday that these beloved jeans of mine are starting to show signs of wear and usage especially around the knee area. The denim has thinned out quite significantly. If any of you have any leads for me as to where I can buy another pair, please let me know. =)

I inherited a lot of vintage rings, belts, jewelery from my grandma, Mamita. I'm planning to do a tribute blog entry for her soon. She was sooo pretty during her prime. I just need to scan some old photographs first so I can share them with you.

1. I have a four year old daughter and a husband that I love dearly, I'd rather stay at home with them than spend the night out anytime....maybe it's age...hehe
2. I have a shoe addiction. I cannot resist the urge to buy pretty shoes, even if I don't have money, I find ways to get some (that doesn't include stealing!).

4. I hate going to the waxing salon, I always procrastinate when it comes to peeling off large amounts of hair from my body. It hurts!
5. I eat like a man (more often like a "karpintero"/carpenter), I enjoy my rice and I get very, very cranky when starved. I love asian food: Thai, Indian and of course Filipino.
6. Comfort before style. I HATE clothes that cling to my body, it really annoys me. I have put holes in the few tight clothes I have from constantly trying to peel them away from my skin.
7. I enjoy painting with acrylics on canvas.
