What I Wore Today: A Smile

Smile and the world will smile right back at you!

Has anyone read Paolo Coelho's, The Alchemist? During a tumultuous period in my life some years ago, a good friend of mine gave me this book and told me to read it. I found it to be quite boring at first but something inside me told me to go on and finish the book. It changed my life.

"When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream."

Today, I would just like to take a moment to thank everyone around me for being there. Without you (including you, yes you), my life wouldn't be as wonderful and remarkable as it is now. I am truly blessed.

What I Wore Today: Floor Sweeper

Morning Peeps! I'm feeling better now, I think I was either on the verge of really getting sick or really bad PMS. Still feeling a little uncomfortable but nothing compared to a couple days ago. Slowly getting back on track :)
Back to wearing maxi's! :D I really tried my best to stay away from the for awhile cause I was beginning to feel predictable and I was also thinking that you guys were starting to get sick of me wearing them but I couldn't help it any longer. They are just the easiest to wear :P Maybe I'll make some midi variations to switch things up a bit. But I really find the floor sweeping type maxi's make me look way taller than I really am so they'll always stay close to my heart.

What I Wore Today: Milky Way

This is what I wore last Sunday to buy food in Milky Way before heading over to Mamita's house for our weekly Sunday visit:

Have you guys tried the food in Milky Way? It is one of Manila's oldest restaurants and the food is just to die for. I haven't tried anything there yet that I didn't like. My personal faves are their Pesang Isda na Lapu Lapu, Adobong Pusit and Lengua.

I've been feeling under the weather since yesterday afternoon. It feels like I'm coming down with the flu. I'm drinking lots of water and loading up on vitamin C. I seriously hope it does not develop into the flu. I have so many commitments I need to fulfill this week. I think I got it from Mamita and her maid. They both weren't feeling well when we visited. I think there's a virus floating in the air so stock up on your vitamins. The sudden change in temperature is such a bitch.

What I Wore Today: DIY Casino

I wish there was a cheaper option, but this was the best solution I could come up with :P And besides, I've been losing sleep over these and I just couldn't resist the temptation any longer...I finally gave in. I'm such a shoe whore!

Anyway...

Wore this for some adult time among friends last Saturday night. We went to Salon de Ning which was brimming with ex-pats and half their age pinays all looking to score that night. It was still fun but we had to leave after a few hours to prevent our wallets from further getting sucked dry. Beer is P200 each you know... :S

Afterwards, we tried Robot but it was just too full for our old asses so we headed to Dillinger's instead for a couple more drinks before finally calling it a night.
While at Salon de Ning, Dennis noticed a table of guys constantly checking me out, he was getting pissed already when he realized that they were gay and were actually checking out my outfit and not me! LOL :)

What I Wore Today: Sparrows

This is the only thing I ever bought from ukay (thrift store) that I actually like and when I bought it, it looked as if it was never worn. When I go to thrift stores, I usually end up with a ton of things I realize, I don't actually like, when I get home. But this is my diamond in the rough.

This was my outfit to go to the bank during the storm. I was so worried about my suede Lita's getting wet even after spraying them with a "Suede Protector", so yesterday, I found a practical solution which I will disclose tomorrow ;)

I finally switched to Sky Broadband from Sun Broadband about a month ago. I'm really loving the speed that Sky provides however, on the downside, I loose my internet during storms :S So if you're wondering why I'm not as visible on your blog, that's the reason.

On a different note, I'm having a HUGE CLOSET SALE on my FB Page in the next few days. I just have to finish cropping the photos and stuff. Up for grabs are shoes that I have never worn or worn only once, some bags and clothes that I will be selling way cheap (My closet is currently out of control and I need to organize real bad). What I Wore Today: Same Shorts

Wore it with Mamita's old shirt that has polished hands printed all over it.

Woke up at around 5am from whistling winds and a really strong downpour. I saw a few sheets of metal from some roofs flying in the wind and the trees looked like they were going to be split in half. Definitely a sight to behold. I couldn't sleep well anymore after that. Good thing the weather has calmed down now. I hope everybody out there is safe and dry. Take care everyone!

What I Wore Today: Good Morning Sunshine!

I'm sorry if my outfit posts have been quite predictable lately. I just noticed while going through my photos that I often blog in this trend: skirt, skirt skirt, pants, pants, pants, shorts, shorts, shorts. But lately it's been shorts, shorts, shoooorts. Blame it on the Lita's. They just go so well with shorts and I love looking at them so I still don't feel like hiding it under a maxi. I'm not a fan of skinny jeans either and I feel uncomfortable in dresses but I might just give the latter a try so you guys get a much deserved break from my shorts posts. :D
Wore this to do some errands yesterday. It was really hot and humid while I was dressing up so I decided to go with a lightweight tee and shorts, but during mid-day, the rain just started pouring down in sheets! Good thing I had my trusty cargo jacket with me cause it got COLD!

My bag has been redundant too and my shoes :( So sorry, will try to mix things up a little bit more in my next few posts. I just love the brightness of the yellow in my shirt. There's something about this shade that makes me feel instantly happy when I put it on :)

What I Wore Today: Woke Up With My Eyes Closed

I tried dressing up "blind" yesterday for fun. And for me, it was fun because I like being able to wear clothes out that feel like houseclothes and second, I know how to sew shorts now :D I made this pair from an old skirt. It's the first one I ever made and I was really excited about it. Loved the print and colors of this fabric but I wasn't really digging it as a skirt anymore so hello new tropical shorts! hehe


And the mystery shoe from my last post are still these Lita's. Been wearing them everyday since I got them. They are the comfiest pair of heels I own, too bad I'm too broke to return for a second pair. Maybe next re-order, hopefully.

So lately, I've just been working and working and working again to pay off all my debts. It's a vicious cycle and I've already accepted the fact that I will die with credit card debt! lol :P

None of my photos came out right this time around. I was half expecting them to be quite alright but after uploading them, I realized that I had this smirk in all of them instead of a normal smile. So just try not to mind the ugly face for now. :P

What I Wore Today: 7x7

Are you guys familiar with Kandi Everyday's 30x30 remix? When I first came across it, I was really tempted to join the challenge but I got lazy and didn't feel like putting myself on such a strict shopping ban for 30 days plus documenting all 30 items of clothing I was planning to use for that month and taking individual photos of them. Lately however, I find myself doing my own kind of remix. A 7x7 if you mainly because of our laziness to pick up our laundry at the laundromat. LOL :) Good thing the weather has been cooperating with my recent change in outfitting myself. So yes, that is the same shirt and the same pair of shorts from a couple of days ago. I only wore them for a couple of hours in an airconditioned setting so don't worry. I still don't smell. :P

Look, my LITA's :D (I just feel like such a proud parent beaming with pride. I really, really want to go back and get another pair if they still have any in my size). They are the comfiest pair of heels ever! You sometimes tend to forget you're in 5 inch platforms and start running all over the place until oops, you loose your balance and it's not a very pretty sight.

From day to night. After doing so and so, we met up with some friends for a few drinks. I didn't have the chance to dress up anymore so I just put on my favorite cargo jacket over it since it was a bit chilly. Hooray! My first street shot! (thanks Pat :)) Can you guess what street I'm standing in?

That's it for now. I've been fixing my multiply page again after such a long time! I'm thinking it might be easier to manage my maxi skirt and turban orders there. Portofino Wow!

What I Wore Today; Orange

Sorry, not the best of outfits today. I was really frazzled and in a hurry to squeeze in a trip to Megamall in the morning before taking Nikola to school. I couldn't think of what to wear because my mind was zeroed in on one thought and one thought only. You all probably know what that thought was! LOL :)
Oh, and I haven't been able to pick up the ton of laundry from the laundromat yet which I'm hoping I can do today. There's the elephant:

On to other news, the reason why I had to rush everything in the morning was because the sewing machine repairman was coming in the afternoon. The belt on my sewing machine was finally replaced and now it works like a dream. He oiled it too. I forgot how quiet it was supposed to be. It was sounding like a jeepney already.
