It is seldom that I get to take my family along with me to press events so when I received an email asking if I was available to cover the Lander https://www.facebook.com/LanderPhilippinesevent at The Mind Museum, I eagerly grabbed the opportunity.
The event was held last Friday afternoon at a function room adjacent to the Mind Museum where aside from the proceedings, lunch from Cibo was also served.
Our journey begins as we happily made our way towards the Mind Museum's grounds...which kinda remind me a lot of Hong Kong.
Took a couple of snaps before heading inside:
Once inside, we were greeted by the warm people of Nuffnang, a large photo wall, and all of Lander's new offerings on display:
Did you know....
that Lander is family owned and has been in the Philippines since 1995? The brand was first formed in the U.S. in 1920 but is now available in 40 countries!
Lander loves all families and believes in the need for maintaining a tightly-knit and well-bonded family so for this event they made it a point to create an unforgettable experience not just for the bloggers but for their families as well so that we may be able to share and keep this memory with each other forever.
And here we are with the other bloggers and their families while waiting for the event proceedings to begin:
The host for that day, Honey, kicked off the event with a fun bring me game as an ice breaker which was soon followed by the introduction of Lander's new products, a TVC (commercial), and a little background on the brand by one of it's owners:
Nikola won a bunch of chocolates from the "Bring Me" game which she had to claim on stage. She was a bit shy so I had to accompany her.
The beautiful family behind Lander:
The Lander family believes that a nurturing, caring and bonding family is our source of comfort, security and identity. Because of this, they believe that every opportunity to share should be seized, thus the birth of Lander's new "family-size" products.
Lander's Family-Sized Personal Care products come in BIG, value for money sizes that are enough for the whole family to share. It is their priority to provide every family with quality and affordable personal care products which will make the life of each member easier, better and healthier.
I personally love this advocacy since this is something I have always done at home. I cherish the times me and Nikola spend bonding together after bath while putting on lotion. Mother-daughter talk is priceless and unlike any other conversation you will have in your entire lifetime.
Having one bottle of product to share amongst the family create little pockets of bonding time. A time to share light chatter with each other or those little secrets that keep you close together.
In this day and age of technology and iPads, I think it is important that we work hard to create these bonding moments with our children and Lander just gave us a good reason to.
This new Family-sized Personal Care campaign from Lander advocates family togetherness so they will be launcing their first ever Lander Love ng Pamilya Poll on their Facebook page where everyone is invited to join and get a chance to win Lander products and an all expense paid family vacation. More on this later....
For now, let us continue on to the virtual tour of the Mind Museum which I have prepared for all of you to enjoy :)
I have been wanting to visit the Mind Museum eversince I first heard of its existence in Esquire several months ago. The fact that there was a life-sized cast of a Tyranasaurus Rex got the child in me all excited and eager to check it out for myself. (I always liked dinosaurs as a kid, I even collected and completed my Panini Dinosaur sticker book, remember those?)
Can I just say...IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. It was gigantic and awesome. A scene-stealer and way better than I could ever have imagined! It was the first display we ran to the moment we entered the museum. T-Rex alone is enough reason to visit the Mind Museum. But of course, there are lots of other reasons too....
The architecture of the mind museum is organically designed to seamlessly feature five different galleries showcasing various facets of science from the the tiniest atom...
to exhibits that explain "The Story Of Life" where one learns how our bodies function from a series of interactive models after our different organs:
Other galleries include "The Story Of The Earth", "The Story Of Technology" and my favorite of all, "The Story Of The Universe".
This was also a pretty cool exhibit, I forgot what it was called but you enter a dark room where a bright light flashes and leaves your shadows imprinted on the wall:
This exhibit taught Nikola how our heart functions; it also beats in time with your pulse:
Below is a digital microscope that allows you to adjust its settings as you take a peak into the sample organisms prepared for you in a glass box:
Sharing a mother-daughter moment before we take the plunge into the whale shark's mouth!
The Mind Museum is packed with a multitude of interactive displays which are sure to keep you preoccupied for hours on end:
In fact, about 99% of their exhibits are interactive. No chance of getting bored in here :)
Another favorite of mine is this touchscreen guitar which taps on the history of popular music from decade to decade:
Posing with their life-size astronaught model (I felt like I was in the MTV Video Music Awards :P):
...Nikola creating music with their digital harp and learning how a tornado is formed.
They also have free-for-all arcade games on the 2nd floor's Technology exhibit. You can play as long as you want for free, no tokens required! This was a dream come true for the "high school Sarah" :P
Another unforgettable feature of the museum are the mini shows which run for about 30 minutes each at scheduled times. We got passes for the Space Shell. The Space Shell is a dome-like structure where patrons have to lay on their backs while a movie about asteroids, meteors and stars are projected onto the ceiling. A definite must-see on your visit!
The Lander team accomplished their mission to create a great bonding experience for all the families who attended. Although tired from the all-day event, we still couldn't help but recount the day's experiences as we happily headed home together.
Thank you Lander and Nuffnang for a truly unforgettable experience!
