to all my lazy, procrastinating people...

Friday, July 12, 2013

This post goes out to all the lazy, procrastinating people out there who think tomorrow will be a better day to excercise. NEWS FLASH: it is never a good day to excercise. You just have to suck it in, put on those trainers , and DO IT. And no, I'm not going to add the "just" to that statement (pay me first NIKE! haha)...oh yea and my trainers are Adidas. :P

Allow me to gloat will you? Because after over a month, I finally decided and summed up the determination to get with the program again. Yep, doing the Zumba moves once more. Very, very special thanks to all my friends on Instagram who ceaselessly post selfies of themselves in the gym. Without your vanity, I couldn't have done it. Seriously, love you. :P

Quitting your workout routine is like relapsing on heroin. It is so much harder to get back on track than to start afresh or in the case of heroin, quitting a second time. And no, I've never tried heroin or even have plans of, I just know from reading too many rock biographies.

I stopped excercising after Bloggers United. Ask most of the other bloggers involved and they will tell you the same thing. As rewarding as it is, BU is also very exhausting. It takes more than a full day to recuperate. Maybe not as long for the younger ones but for dinosaurs like me, that statement holds true. Add to that the start of the school year for Nikola with a new schedule and my routine went whack.

Been meaning to do it sooner but laziness took the better of me and I'm not really what you would call a "fitness buff" in the first place. Excercise is one of my least favorite things in the world to do and I tried for a very, very long time to find my way out of it. But you know, you reach 30-something and your hormones go haywire  and your body starts rebelling on you and the only way to tame it down is to squeeze in several minutes of heart-pumping cardio at least 3 times a week (kill me now). It's the sad truth but the truth nonetheless and nature's way of pulling a joke on humanity. Why now when I'm all squeaky and brittle? Why not before when I was shiny and strong? Anyway, that's the way it is. Just plaster as many posters of Demi Moore, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston and all those other Hollywood Cougars who are managing to defy the laws of nature for inspiration. (sigh)

Sucks to be normal. But if I can do it, you can too.
