firmoo glasses giveaway!

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

These past few years have been all about geek chic. In all my life this is the first time I have ever seen people sport clear glasses strictly for fashion and I can't blame them. A simple pair of glasses has a unique way of transforming a look unlike any other accessory.

Wether or not you're in the market for a new pair, now's the best time to update your old-fashioned, worn glasses because Firmoo is giving away free glasses! Yup, they're holding a crazy giveaway for you all and all you have to do is share it. You only have a few days to join so better make sure you take advantage of this limited Firmoo free offer.

If you're not into prescription glasses, no worries, Firmoo also offers a lot of chic, high quality sunglasses that you can avail. They stock everything from celebrity inspired oversized pairs, wire frames and hipster worthy, colorful plastic frames. And ladies, now is the perfect time to don your favorite pair of sunnies. Browsing through the pages of Vogue, Bazaar and Nylon magazine gave me a glimpse of this year's hottest accessory and they are none other than sunglasses.

I got me a pair of Firmoo sunglasses last year and I couldn't be happier with the quality. They didn't have that nauseatingly toxic smell that cheap glasses usually do. My Firmoo sunglasses have the quality of optical shop  purchased sunnies, what's also great is that they come in two containers. One hard case for storage and one soft pouch for when you're on the go. My pair also came with extra screws so I can easily repair them in case I accidentally sit on them or something like that (you know how clumsy I can get :P)

In case you aren't feeling lucky or weren't one of the fortunate ones to win, no worries. Firmoo will give you your first pair of glasses for free. All you have to do is pay for shipping which is only around $6.95!

Join the Firmoo Crazy Giveaway today!!!

Good Luck! :)

I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to try out two of their shades. I own the PALAIS ROYAL and LODHI which I personally think are two of the best shades to come out of this collection.

First, you must know that I have never encountered a lipstick from NARS that I didn't like. The color is always bold and highly pigmented, shades are beautiful, they are very easy to apply and they stay on for a long time.

The new satin lip pencils from NARS deliver all that plus a whopping  x 10.

nars satin lip pencil review

What I Love About NARS Satin Lip Pencils:

  1. extremely easy to use both as a pencil and lipstick
  2. no need to sharpen, just twist and your good
  3. beautiful shades
  4. very highly pigmented
  5. super strong stay on power...I had to rub my lips and arm numerous times with soap and water just to get it off...so far the most stubborn lipstick I have ever tried...when it comes to lippies this gets an A+
  6. moisture-rich and ultra creamy formula

Check out the swatches of my NARS Palais Royal (kiss) and my Lodhi (me):

There is nothing to hate about these latest lippies from NARS. In my eyes, they're perfect. Probably the only thing preventing me from giving this a 5 star rating is the price tag. It's a little pricey at P1450 per pencil but I assure you, it's worth every penny.

Try it out for yourself at all NARS counters and boutiques in Rustans.

grunge prude

Monday, April 29, 2013

Hi all! This is what I wore to the MOVE Fitness and lifestyle store launch. Dress code was sporty. I stopped being sporty a long time ago and only started again recently with Zumba but I do it at home so my "sporty wardrobe" consists of battered old shirts and jogging pants...a combination that isn't really event friendly so I just tried and did the best I could with what I had which was my aerobic wedge trainers from topshop and a tank top.

Love, love this GN'R tank top I found last month in Forever21. Always been a gn'r fan since appetite and eversince somebody burned all my paraphernalia I have been searching and searching for new ones to avail but they aren't as easy to come by now that hard rock, heavy metal and grunge isn't the music dujour to listen to.

The only thing annoying is that this tank top hangs a bit low...which doesn't bother me much cause I like the peek-a-boo bra effect but Dennis wouldn't let me out of the house that way (god bless his soul) so I had to add a tube underneath it for a more modest look...which I don't like as much as the slutty version. HA-HA.

eastpak artist studio 2013

Sunday, April 28, 2013

I was at Vinyl On Vinyl at the collective yesterday to check out the Eastpak Artist Studio exhibit.

Eastpak is a heritage brand that has long been well-loved by underground peeps and alternative communities. It is for this reason that they decided to create the Eastpak Artist Studio which brings artists from around the world in a collaborative effort to design Eastpak's Padded Pak-r bags into masterpieces.

The proceeds of the project go to a charity organization called Designers Against AIDS. The past editions saw over 130 artists including graphic designers, product designers, DJs, and even chefs to design over 200 unique Eastpak backpacks.

Bratpak and Primer couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to hold the event. The Collective was very fitting for the creative vibe of the of teh show and its attendees. Super cool indeed.

Aside from being a charitable collaboration, Eastpak Artist Studio also brings a lot of exposure internationally for our local artists.

This year, five local artists were tapped by Eastpak and Bratpak Remix to promote creative freedom and social awareness.

First on the list is Apol Sta. Maria who comic books and art works. He is well loved in the scene for his uncanny pieces that invoke humor and curiosity in the mind of the observer.

unboxing my limited edition "elite bdjbox"

Friday, April 26, 2013

Everybody likes surprises right? But surprises are sweeter when you know that you've earned them...

Imagine my surprise yesterday when the guard handed me quite a weighty package in a box. The box was slightly bigger than the regular BDJ Boxes so I was really curious to find out what was inside the plastic pouch. I wasn't expecting to receive another BDJ Box since I just recently received my April box and last I checked, May isn't anywhere near yet (ok, maybe a little near, it just sounds better to write it that way...).

And then I tore up the pouch and saw this...a heart-melting, pay-it-forward message from the BDJ Box team....

They sent me an "Elite" BDJ Box as a thank you for the many times I have shared my unboxings and product reviews with you guys on my blog, ig and other platforms. Awww...

And no sh*#, this box definitely deserves to be called an "elite box". It is the mother of all boxes. I won't even bother to attempt and try to do the math since the iSkin moisturizer alone already costs a small fortune. I believe you guys are more or less getting the ball park figure already just by glancing at the brand names...And mind you, most are full-size.

Just to encourage you guys a little more...let me make a quick rundown of its contents...

  1. Davines Nounou Shampoo
  2. Davines Nounou Conditioner
  3. Celeteque Cleansing Oil
  4. iSkin Daily Sunshield
  5. Ahava Day Moisturizer
  6. Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick
  7. Neutregena Sunblock
  8. Viva La Juicy La Fleur
  9. Sureslim Wellness Gift Voucher worth P1500
Okay, I can't help it, a rough estimate of its contents amount to around P7-8K and I got all of it for free just because I'm cool. Hehehe, just kidding. I got this because I worked for it which makes it even sweeter. So guys, keep sharing your unboxings and product reviews on your different social media platforms. It doesn't matter where or which ones you have. It could be on your Facebook page or Instagram. Just do it from the heart and be loyal :)

bench mastercard anniversary celebrates with shopping spree

In my entire life, I've had a total of 4 credit cards. All of those I chose only with bank reputation in mind and not perks (I didn't even check interst rates and annual fees, figures... :S). Tsk, tsk, tsk. Big mistake on my part. What I learned today from the Bench BDO Mastercard anniversary celebration is that I am still quite a bit old-fashioned when it comes to credit cards. I only own regular bank cards with no brand affiliate which means I only get to enjoy...no perks. Boo. I never realized that brand affiliated cards have so much more reward programs and discounts attached to them.

Take for example this Bench BDO Mastercard. To celebrate their first year anniversary, they chose 36 lucky cardholders to experience a once in a lifetime shopping spree at any and all of Suyen Brand Corp's stores.

I witnessed the frenzy early this morning at the Bench store in Megamall. Kelly Misa hosted the event and it was well attended by media and bloggers such as myself.

These 3 lucky cardholders each won P35,000 and could spend it any way they want in all of the Suyen stores provided they only spend 2 minutes per shop. Okay lang, I take the challenge! Hello Aldo, Bench, Cotton On!! Woot. But sadly, since I never did research my credit card well, I missed out on this chance. Rest assured, by next year, I will be cancelling one of my cards to get a Bench Mastercard for myself.

Not to kiss ass but with my interests and lifestyle, I think I will get to save a lot more money by switching cards. With my present card, I only enjoy a zero percent interest scheme at some stores. On the other hand, having my own Bench Mastercard gives me double rewards when I use it at Bench and its partner stores (which I always frequent, I only buy my panties in Bench Body. They're the best :))I also get to enjoy zero interest for 3 or 6 months, priority access to seasonal sales, invitations to Bench events and shows and 10% discount at all Suyen Corp stores nationwide during my birth month.
And guess what? The rewards program is automatically converted to cash and you can use it to spend at all of Bench's partner stores.

See??? I think I deserve a face palm. Honestly, I'm switching next year. Dennis also does most of his shopping in Celio so it really makes sense. And hello, Aldo? Plus seeing all of Bench's new summer offerings makes me want to get it more. Like tommorow. Sayang lang kse my annual fee for the other card. Oh well, we'll see. For now let me leave you with photos of some of my favorite picks in the store.

bench straw hat for men, also comes in black. fits me! i have a big head :P planning to go back for this, was only P399! love the embroidered aztec accent on this basic white polo too.

cute neon green cardigan with blue elbow patches from bench

move fitness and lifestyle store

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Have you seen Move? It's the new fitness and lifestyle store at Two Parkade in BGC. I attended their official launch yesterday...Here's what happened:

But first, some pics of the store. Move carries equipment, accessories and apparel from some of the world's leading fitness brands such as Startac, Sole, Danskin, Proteus, JK, Go Fit, Biggest Loser, TRX, Polar, Theraband, CW-X Compression Wear and a lot more.

I love how they arrange their merchandise into different fitness categories rather than just random displays most other stores have. It really  makes it a lot easier to find equipment that is relevant for your needs.

I used to have this misconception that gym equipment is pricey and I was surprised to find out that a lot of options out there are actually really affordable...

Another discovery that made me really happy were finding these sports bras that come in DD's!!!  Yay!!! It has been soooo difficult for me to find sports bras that fit in the past, now I know where to go!

Throughout the event, I had the same recurring thought..."this store is totally unique, it has the feel of a passion project"....

It' s summer season once again and we all know that summer is synonymous with the beach, bathing suits and bikini shots. We all want to look our best for the season and MOVE is the first place you should head to if you're thinking of getting fit. The people behind MOVE are very passionate about what they do.  Being surrounded by their staff and listening to their president , Toby Claudio speak made it evident to me that they really want to spread the fitness word with the world.

Like I have mentioned in my previous posts and tweets, I have recently started doing Zumba and I'm really into it. It's not a cliche..getting regular excercise does wonders not just for the body but also for the soul. I feel so much better since I started and I highly recommend everyone to find a fitness routine that you like and stick with it, not just for the season, but for life.

MOVE is your best bet to help you determine a routine that is perfect for you and stick with it. Move offers their customers a goal based approach called the "MOVE BODY PROJECT". The Move Body Project starts off with a free full-body composition analysis using a state-of-the art machine previously available only in hospitals. Then MOVE’s fitness consultants assist customers in identifying their state of health and help them mark the starting point of their journey to better fitness.  Following the analysis, MOVE then aids the customer in choosing the appropriate equipment from their wide selection of fitness gear to achieve one of four goals – Burn, Build, Active or Perform. Moreover, MOVE ensures that every customer leaves their store knowing how to properly use each piece of equipment by prescribing basic workouts.

this is what it looks like when you get your body assesed...

To show how serious it is in helping its customers get fit, MOVE provides motivation by encouraging customers to come back after 90 days to get tested again and rewarding them with prizes if they achieve their goal.

If MOVE doesn't make you move and get off your butt, I don't know what else will.

To show how serious it is in helping its customers get fit, MOVE provides motivation by encouraging customers to come back after 90 days to get tested again and rewarding them with prizes if they achieve their goal.

If MOVE doesn't make you move and get off your butt, I don't know what else will.
