I will not lie, it is extremely difficult to review skin care products. Change doesn't happen in a month and if ever it does, it's quite minute, almost impossible to capture on camera. My rule of thumb is that if it doesn't give me breakouts then it's okay. Not stellar but okay. But then again, this is relative because what works for my skin type may not work for yours, there are so many things to consider when it comes to skin care so it's more or less a hit and miss process for everyone.

Things get even more complicated when you hit your mid-twenties up. For me, it was when I hit 30. That was really when I began to notice big changes in my facial features as if they just popped up overnight. Although people say that I still look young for my age, my skin has significantly aged in a span of 4 years.

When push comes to shove, it's time for drastic action and the ZO Skin Health line by Zein Obagi is perfect as an emergency contingency plan.

The Zo Medical Skin Health line consists of a toner, facial wash, day cream, exfoliating cleanser, moisturizing creams and an SPF primer which is a huge favorite among many women.

Unlike regular skin care regimens that solely work on adding moisture to your skin, Obagi renews, tightens and moisturizes with the help of Retinol. First time users may experience redness and peeling during the first week or so but as I am an old Retinol user, I barely experienced a reaction, just minor peeling around the nose and mouth area which went away after a day or two.

Noticeably though, after about a month of regular usage, there was some added tightness especially around my laughlines.

The kit doesn't come cheap but it produces above average results as long as you use it regularly. It is an advanced anti-aging line that is best used by women in their 30s and above.

But of course, like I said in the beginning of this post, what works for me may not work for you so when it comes to skin care products like these which cost a bit more than average, it's best to consult with your dermatologist first.

ZO is available at top dermatology clinics nationwide.
