herschel fall 2014 collection #welltravelled

Sunday, August 31, 2014

Every time I hear Herschel, natataranta ako (hehe) (I get excited), there's something about the way this brand manages to marry vintage and modern that really gets to me. Many have tried to imitate but none have been able to duplicate Herschel's attention to quality and detail. Their bags are extremely comfortable to carry around.
They're really something else which is why I braved the rain and traffic on a payday Friday and headed to Yardstick Coffee to check out their new collection for Fall 2014.

Apparently, A LOT share the same sentiment for the brand because the hipster coffee shop was filled to the brim with equally hipster people trying to get a glimpse of the new bags :P

Safe to say, we were not disappointed.

For Fall 2014, Herschel Supply Co. aims to inspire people to travel the world and go to places they've never been equipped with their favorite Herschel bag in a social media campaign called #WellTravelled.

The new collection features a range of materials that are both traditional and innovative such as premium veggie tan leather, 3M reflective fabric and reactive denim.

Also expect new silhouettes in eye-catching hand-drawn prints from the Geo, Tiger Camo, Hunt, Sunday and Countryside range which were derived from elements of a diverse city culture.

I've got my eye on this suede backpack and the duffle bag below. Lightweight and extremely durable, they're perfect travel companions.

Check out more of Herschel Supply Co's Fall 2014 Collection + gorgeous photos of their #WellTravelled campaign at www.herschelsupply.com or connect with Herschel Philippines socially on Facebook for first dibs on sales and promos.

ellesse opens in mega fashion hall: #togetherweplayph

Saturday, August 30, 2014

Ellesse first blew up in the 70's when they started outfitting A-list tennis players.
Soon after, the jetset elite picked up on the trend and it wasn't long before the Italian heritage sports and lifestyle brand turned into a household name that everyone wanted to get their hands on.

Ellesse mainly owes their success to their ability to inject just the right amount of chic each season into their well-loved classics which include great fitting, cotton pique shirts and sneakers. It's always playful, youthful and stylish.

Now we can all get in on the fun as Ellesse opens their latest branch in what is fast becoming every fashionistas favorite shopping playground: the Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

To celebrate the opening of their newest branch, a 2 day event is currently being held at the atrium of mega fashion hall where guests get to participate in fun games for a chance to win cool prizes from Ellesse:

i'm on MET (tathione)

Friday, August 29, 2014

I've been on MET for about a week now.
(The Breaking Bad fan in me has been dying to say that)

MET is an advanced Glutathione supplement that is meant to be ingested twice daily after meals.

Contrary to popular belief, Glutathione isn't really (and just) a whitening product per se. Rather than lighten the skin, Glutathione evens out the skin tone and delivers radiant looking, younger skin.

Out of all the other brands out there, I chose Met because it is 100% produced and packaged in Japan (I mostly trust everything Japanese :P) and it's the only brand that contains a new ingredient called Algatrium - a powerful antioxidant designed to boost Glutathione production by 300%.

Aside from providing younger looking skin, Met Tathion Capsules are also supposed to:
  • help strengthen the immune system
  • remove toxins from liver
  • boost sexual potency
  • protect the body from free radical damage.

And those are predominantly the reasons why I decided to start taking Met regularly.
(aside from wanting to have glowing skin of course, that's always, always first priority. hahaha)

I smoke, drink occasionally and am often exposed to pollution (especially considering the area I live in which is just a few blocks away from Edsa) all of which are some of the most common causes of free radical damage. Add to that the bipolar weather we've been having lately and it's enough to get even the healthiest person down with the sniffles. Taking Met is more of a preemptive measure for me and so far, I'm really liking the effects (especially physically).

It's too soon to tell but I'll get back to you with another blog post after I've taken it for an entire month and let you know how it's going. :)

for more info, visit their website at: http://www.met.co/  or LIKE MET Tathione on Facebook

ootd wearability

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

I haven't been able to post a decent ootd for several weeks now which is why I found it a bit odd that it's been the favorite topic of conversation for random friends from different circles recently. Their main concern is wearability.

These are friends of mine who follow style blogs and recently they've been complaining about how impractical some of the outfits have been getting. As a fellow reader of style blogs both local and abroad, I can somewhat relate.

Once you dissect an outfit post, you can pretty much differentiate it into 2 things: A) something that inspires you to emulate, create your own version and wear it out or B) a pretty picture but does nothing to open up your mind to your existing wardrobe's different mix and match possibilities (much like an editorial spread). Something to admire but not very practical to be seen publicly in.

So to cater to my friends and readers demands and since I am also just 100% practical and fuss-free when it comes to fashion (which gives me no other choice but to look...tada..practical. heh), from this day forward, I will try to maintain a consistent display of wearable outfits (since I do really wear these clothes out naman :P) heh again. :P

After weeks and weeks, here's another "practical" ootd which I wore to a lunch meeting earlier today.

ps. the top isn't as sheer in person as it looks in the photos :))

triangl swimwear review: dakota superfly + new york noir

Who hates shopping for bikinis? Raise your hand!

I absolutely hate shopping for bikini's. Not only is it extremely hard (and almost impossible) to find a pair that fits ---
(I don't understand why they continue to sell them in single size sets when hardly anyone is perfectly proportioned...and anyway, who decides on these "ideal proportions" anyway?!) when you do, it's usually only available in a few styles and instead of being able to express myself through my bikini. I usually just have to end up settling and spend money on something I'm not 100% in love just for the sake of having something decent looking to wear.

What's even worse is that after spending a good chunk of my money, I still have to put in some manual labor for slight alterations (see HERE).

Nothing has the ability to lower my self -esteem and ruin my mood as much as an afternoon spent trying on swimsuits.

Probably the biggest reason behind my frustration is my body's odd proportion of having a back that measures 32" combined with a DD cup. They hardly make anything in that size especially in Asian countries like ours. On the odd occasion that I do (usually in Debenhams or Marks & Spencer), the designs are usually matronly AND include either thick padding or push-up features. Seriously?! Obviously, these designers have never walked a mile in a full-busted girls shoes.

What we want is support and decent coverage so as not to end up looking like a pornstar lounging on a beach! Am I right? Can I get an amen on that?!

YES!

And that is precisely why Triangl Bikinis are a godsent for us.

Not only are the styles super cute and bang on trend, the support their tops provide is equally phenomenal too.

My first Triangl was the Dakota Superfly which was given to me as a gift:

the body shop's tea tree bb cream, instablur, and hand cream

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

When do we most want coverage? During breakouts right? But that often poses a dilemma. As much as we want to conceal our imperfections, we often don't for fear of clogging our pores further and causing more acne.

The Body Shop's new Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream addresses this problem by killing two birds with one stone: conceal while you heal.

This new BB Cream simplifies your morning routine by providing:
  • instantly spotless looking skin
  • natural looking coverage
  • combats blemishes

It's available in 2 universal shades ( a light and medium) that blends seamlessly into your skin.
SRP: P795
Best used with The Body Shop's full range of Tea Tree Oil products.

Now down to the most talked about InstaBlur All-in-One 5 Action Perfector!

What is InstaBlur? Basically it's an unscented make-up primer in a clear universal shade that minimizes the appearance of pores, and blemishes and replaces it with smooth, velvety skin. It reminds me a bit of liquid powder once applied.
  • A little goes a long way
  • Very easy to blend
  • Allows your make-up to last longer
  • Provides a mattifying look, minimizes sebum

For those with dry skin, apply a moisturizer first.

With InstaBlur, you can take flawless selfies without the help of photo editing apps! Look great not just in photos but also in person!

SRP: P1195

I used to view hand creams as a luxury because of their small size + hefty price tag. Always a popular gift during Christmas, I usually just wait for someone to give me a tube. :P

Not anymore...

Now we can enjoy young-looking, soft hands all the time with The Body Shop's new fruity hand creams which only retail for P200+.

The hand creams are enriched with Shea Butter and come in stylish, travel sized tubes. The gel-cream formula is easily absorbed into the skin for a non-greasy feel.

There you have it, some of The Body Shop's most exciting new products! :)

party at victoria court's cirque party room

Monday, August 25, 2014

Par-tay at Victoria Court? Why not?

Once get past the stigma, it's actually a great place to have a party at.

Kudos to my friend Pax for choosing it as a venue to celebrate her 31st birthday party at. The suite we had it in was called the Cirque Party Room and it is large enough to fit 40 people with 2 toilets (absolutely necessary when the drinks start flowing and the men begin to get sloppy :P). At just 15k for 10 hours, it's quite a reasonably priced option for a party setting don't you think?

If 40 is a bit much for you, they also have several other Party Rooms and smaller suites with different themes like the Marilyn Monroe Suite, the Elephant Room of Moulin Rouge, a replica of the Oval Office (which I'm sure would be the first choice of many men :P), Monster Ball Suite inspired by Lady Gaga, a Game Of Thrones suite (gah! :P) many, many others and my favorite...the 50 Shades Of Grey suite which I heard has an actual elevator and is fashioned just like Christian Grey's Escala apartment complete with a "Red Room"! That is where I want to have my bachelorette party at.

So anyway, here are some pics from the party and a semi-tour of the Cirque Party Room:

Which to my surprise happened to be very well put together and not tacky at all. The finishes and execution was very impressive and not at all cheesy as one might expect from a motel. VC has really upped their ante.

Happy Birthday again Paxie! Thanks for having us, we should definitely do this again soon. Love you! :)

What I love most about having a party in Victoria Court...aside from not having to clean up afterwards....is that the place is able to bring out the fun side of everyone :P

k-palette 1 day magic series

Sunday, August 24, 2014

K-Palette 1 Day Magic: Gorgeous, natural looking make-up in less than 10 minutes:

That is the reason why I love K-Palette so much. Their products are very easy to use and you get perfect results each time with very minimal effort AND it stays on all day without smudging. You can even workout and go swimming without having to worry about it coming off or looking like a panda by the end of your session.

I saw no flaw with their previous collection. I was satisfied and super happy with it. For me there was no need for any improvements and then they came out with the 1 Day Magic Series and it totally blew me away on the first try.

These products are on a NEED TO TRY basis.

They will make your life a whole lot easier and prettier. Read on...

First up, the 1 Day Magic Eyelid Glue: This new formula isn't just for creating double eyelids, it also doubles as a great glue for falsies. Attaching false eyelashes is difficult enough as it is. Using the wrong glue will make it a frustrating and almost impossible task to accomplish. With the 1 Day Magic Eyelid Glue, even beginners will be able to attach falsies with ease.

retail price: P650

2. 1 Day Magic Fiber Mascara: Having long beautiful eyelashes is super important to me. I feel that it has the ability to really transform my face and make it look more awake and radiant.
I've tried other fiber mascaras before but never bothered to purchase one because although I thought the idea was great, application was often messy and difficult (fibers and smudge all over the place :P) plus the end result always looked unnatural and clumpy.

K-Palette's new 1 Day Magic Fiber Mascara is a dream come true for me. It produces thick, volumized and gorgeous looking eyelashes with just a single application. The look is natural and curly even without help from a curlash.

To use, apply a coat of mascara followed by a coat of fiber then finish with a final coat of mascara.

Because the mascara dries instantly, there's no danger of smudging and messy, sticky fibers ending up all over your eyelash and lower lash area. It also glides on smoothly with zero clumps.

retail price: P895

3. 1 Day Magic 3D Palette: a new favorite of mine. Perfect for beginners and those who are always in a hurry.

The 1 Day Magic 3D Palette stays on for 24 hours so no need to touch up + it makes the seemingly daunting tasks of highlighting and contouring super easy and convenient to accomplish perfectly in just a minute.

The compact comes with a high quality, double-sided brush and a 4-part palette that includes blush for your outer cheek and inner cheek, a highlighter, and a dark shading pigment for contouring.

The blush gives off a natural looking rosy glow that will compliment any skin tone and the highlighter contains pearls for a luminous, youthful look. All 4 glide on easily and the diagram that comes with it really helps simplify the process making it very easy to follow and apply. YES, I cannot stress enough how fast and simple it is to use :P

retail price: P895

4. 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner: K Palette is the only liquid eyeliner I use because it is very easy to apply and convenient to take off (that seems to be the underlying trend here, easy and convenient :P). It's super pigmented, glides on beautifully making it super simple to create the perfect cat's eye. What I love most is that it does not smudge no matter how oily your lids get and yet it is easily removed with just soap and water. Other waterproof eyeliners often leave an unsightly dark shadow on my under eyes even after using a make-up remover and soap so I spend the entire following day looking haggard. I hate it which is why I always stick with this brand.

The new 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner still features the same characteristics I love but now comes with a brush that is 3 times thicker than its predecessor and 3 times easier to use.

The thicker brush feels sturdy and structured, absorbs more product allowing you to draw a perfect line with just one stroke.

Lookie, did this in under 5 minutes, using only those 3 products + my K-Palette 2-Way Lasting Eyebrow Pen on my right eye, kept the left side sans make-up.

No BB Cream, no primer, nothing. Played with it right after my morning coffee which is why I'm still in my nightgown :P Just used the 3D palette on my face + eyeliner, mascara, no curlash either but look how much longer my lashes look on the left plus it even curls outwards!

Took me less than 5 minutes.

The new 1 Day Magic Series is a definite must-have for every woman. It's also great to give to make-up obsessed teenagers cause there's no danger for them to look unnatural or older than their age when they use these. I promise, once you try these, you will never want to use anything else.

K-Palette is available in Beauty Bar and The Beauty Source of Rustans Makati and Shangrila.

k-palette 1 day magic series

2. 1 Day Magic Fiber Mascara: Having long beautiful eyelashes is super important to me.

3. 1 Day Magic 3D Palette: a new favorite of mine.

4. 1 Day Magic Liquid Eyeliner: K Palette is the only liquid eyeliner I use because it is very easy to apply and convenient to take off (that seems to be the underlying trend here, easy and convenient :P).
