Down with the natives OR How to dress like a tita.

I am probably not the best example of age appropriate but sometimes, I try.

Especially when I need to go to my daughter's school or mingle with co-parents. Hehe

If you've ever thought about pursuing a career as a barber or hair stylist, now is an excellent time to think about really going to a qualified esthetics school. If your dream is to open your own beauty or barber shop, or to work as a high priced stylist or adviser in the fashion industry, this is one course of education that you simply can't afford to be without. I'm a serial repeater.

I don't know if it's because I'm a mom or because I am a practical person by nature. Whatever it is, I know that this characteristic of mine greatly affects my shopping habits.

Sometimes it's good, most times it's bad. :P

sanuk 2015: #neveruncomfortable

Thursday, June 25, 2015

Do you remember Sanuk's tagline: "These are not shoes"?

They've dropped it.

These days, it's all about being #NeverUncomfortable.

Although I don't have anything against the popular "Sidewalk Surfers", I don't think they suit everyone's style.

Not everyone can pull off that cool, effortless vibe and look stylish at the same time (which is a pity because they really are super comfy.)

Thankfully, Sanuk has recently decided to finally expand their line into proper footwear so average folk like us can enjoy the same comfort everyday.

a multiple intelligence summer + giveaway

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

Summer was a vacation from school but it wasn't a vacation from learning for me and my daughter.

I see summer as a way for her to learn more about life, herself, history, practical learning, sports, interaction and many more.

I'm not really the preachy type of parent but I'd just like to share with you my methods because from experience, I find that it really helped my daughter come out of her shell.

I can't believe I did a butt shot, it's the most terrifying thing for a non-butt person like me. :P

And I haven't been to the gym in over half a year (I knowww, hassle but I plan to return soon now that everything's slowly beginning to normalize around the home front).

So anyway, let's talk denim since denim is a pretty hot commodity this season.

Do you have a favorite pair? How much did you get it for? ☺

samsung smart oven review + recipes

Monday, June 22, 2015

(NOT SPONSORED)

A huge (and fun) part of renovating your kitchen is shopping for sparkly new appliances! I was in the market for a new microwave oven when I came across the Samsung Smart Oven.

In the beginning, size and function didn't really matter. I just wanted one in brushed stainless steel.

Easier said than done.

After visiting more than 5 appliance stores, I only found 2 worth considering. One was from Electrolux priced at just 5k (perfect and within budget) and the other was by Elba which I found a too expensive for a microwave at 8k but since it was the only one available with the look that I wanted, I almost got it.

Good thing, I waited a day and decided to get us a Samsung Smart Oven instead.

How To Find The Ideal Online Fashion Company

Sunday, June 21, 2015

In this day and age, the rise of the internet has resulted in the rise of online shopping. All over the world, people can access the internet and shop for all kinds of products, including clothing. If you like the idea of being able to buy absolutely amazing clothing items from the comfort and privacy of your own home, you should know that doing so does not have to be difficult. To find the ideal online fashion company from which to purchase great clothes, implement the following strategies:

giordano bank on basics: huge discounts on classic pieces

Saturday, June 20, 2015

It can get really frustrating shopping for basics that are nicely tailored and yet still fit into my budget.

Visit the ladies wear section of any department store and you are bound to find more than a handful of white oxford shirts. But why is it that most of the time there is always something wrong with them???

My biggest pet peeves are cheap looking shiny (polyester/rayon?!) fabrics that don't breathe, outdated cuts and ugly buttons.

Or sometimes they try to think "out of the box" and go overboard with "modern updates" such as asymmetrical hems and billowy sleeves.

Why can't they just come out with a basic white shirt that breathes and flatters?

AND the sad thing is, it's not just about white shirts either, right???

It's also really difficult finding shorts that fit well with a decent length, plain tees, etc.

I feel so strongly about this because I AM A BIG BASICS GIRL (or woman, whatevs. :P). 95% of my wardrobe consists of classic pieces I can easily mix and match.

Do you have the same sentiments? Wouldn't it be great to just visit one store and find everything you need to build a strong wardrobe in a single visit?

RENOVATION DIARIES: WHITE KITCHEN BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS

Thursday, June 18, 2015

The hardest and most stressful part of our renovation was the kitchen. It took the longest to get done and was also the most expensive primarily because of the granite BUT because of our open layout, deciding to include it into our facelift at the last minute was the best decision we've ever done.

I don't think our home would look as fresh or updated if we left it as is or went with our original plan of just having the cabinets painted.

Like I said, the kitchen wasn't part of the plan so it came together via a weird design process. I'm just relieved they all tied in together in the end.

So here it is now, and here's how we began...

butterfly twists spring/summer 2015

Tuesday, June 16, 2015

I was first introduced to foldable flats a couple of years ago and since then, it's always been an essential in my bag especially on days when I need to attend multiple events.

I got somewhat addicted to them so I began to hoard (naturally :P).

And that's when I discovered that not all foldable flats are created equal. Some tend to chafe while others strain my big toe. Not Butterfly Twists. No joke, out of all I've tried, these are truly the most comfortable.

For Spring/Summer 2015, Butterfly Twists gives us more design options to match all out outfits. Think sandals, brogues, etc!

RENOVATION DIARIES: MONEY SAVING TIPS TO UPDATE THE LOOK OF TIRED FURNITURE

Thursday, June 11, 2015

Are we friends on Facebook? Did you notice that I suddenly stopped posting renovation updates? It's because I am sooo fed up with having workers around everyday. The dirt, the cleaning up. It's so tiring and exasperating. I wipe down our floors twice a day just to make our place liveable.

Most frustrating of all is that we've hit a plateau.

MALDITA BLOGGER

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

This is probably the longest I've gone without writing a single thing ever since I began blogging some 5-6 years ago.

When I get into random conversations with people and they mention how difficult it is to maintain a blog and find the time to write something everyday, I always tell them no - that it just takes getting used to.

Part of that is true and part of that is also very false as I'm slowly beginning to learn recently.

I've been doing this so long that I guess it's become part of my daily schedule. Point is: you absolutely need to set aside quite a bit of time to blog.

Which brings us to this ootd and an apology.

i do it twice a week

Tuesday, June 2, 2015

I do it twice a week and I've been doing it since my ob-gyne prescribed it when I gave birth 9 years ago.

It's funny how such a small part of my body can have such a huge impact on my over all well-being. When something goes wrong "down there", I can't help but feel weak all over.

It's such a sensitive and private part of my body that I want things to go smoothly 24/7 so I don't have to have unnecessary visits to my gyne and uncomfortable conversations about vaginal health with other women.

I like to keep my privates private and that's why I do it twice a week.
