For the past several months these new artists have been working hard to prepare themselves for September 10 - the Final Competition where only 3 will be chosen to win and only will get the "Favorite ng Barkada Award".
“As industry people, it feels great to share what we know directly to the artists that would eventually make the music; these bands would be the artists to look out for tomorrow. If we’re lucky enough, we could have the next hit from one of these artists,” shares Punch Liwanag. “It’s not every day that record executives and artists get to share their experiences to up and coming bands. The insight that these people give are definitely valuable,” he adds.
On the night of the final competition on September 10, more musical entertainment heavyweights such as Albert Cuadrante, Pam Reyes, Civ Fontanilla, Yumi Lacsamana, Shehyee, Armi Millare, and Jericho Fernando will join the Ultimate Bandkada search as the judges.
Civ also added his insight on how the new Bandkada can successfully break into the music industry. “Be original. Having your own true identity is really important. Aside from having the talent, they should always consider the listeners of this generation. They must be able to translate their creativity to the audience, who’s always waiting for a new sound—that new Bandkada,” he says.
The Judges have been revealed, the stage is set and these new artists are prepared! The competition just got a little hotter and a hundred times more exciting.
On September 10, 2016, the top 8 bands will be presented to the public at the culminating event that will be held at the Valkyrie Nightclub at the Palace Manila in Bonifacio Global City. All the finalists will perform their spins on the Greenwich theme song that has to be a mash-up of two different genres.
