iPhone Memory Full!?!

A nightmare when you're in the middle of something spectacular. Say a wedding, visiting a historical landmark, childbirth?! (haha)

Point is, nowadays, most of us rely on our smartphones to capture wonderful memories and the thing about memories is that sometimes, they happen in a split second. Definitely not enough time to rifle through your camera roll to choose which photos to delete.

If you've been in a similar situation before, you will want to "read more".

STORIES FROM OSAKA PART 2: SIDE TRIP TO NARA

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

For our last day in Osaka, we decided to go on a side trip to Nara.

The beauty about traveling to Osaka is that it is so close to many other points of interest that are accessible enough for a day trip.
There's Kobe  and Hiroshama to name a few but I really wanted to see some deers so Hello, Nara!

STORIES FROM OSAKA : DŌTONBORI | SHINSAIBASHI | OSAKA CASTLE

Welcome to.... THE LONGEST DAY everrrrr!

On our first day in Osaka, I was basically up with no sleep for roughly 20 hours or so.

But I wasn't complaining. I was finally in Japan!

7 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT THE CHAINSMOKERS

Are you a fan of The Chainsmokers?

Here's 7 fun facts you probably haven't heard of yet + a chance to win tickets to the concert in Manila this August 19!

FUNFACT #1: The Chainsmokers pre-performance ritual
Before getting onto the stage, some artists have vocal warm ups and some sweat it out, but for this duo, it’s a different scenario. Imagine them having a few drinks (or a lot in a number of shows) before they turn the stage upside down, or punch each other in the face just to hype the party monsters in them. They also drown themselves with either steak or espressos to turn their bodies up for a massive and unforgettable moment upstage!

How do you like your wings? With blue cheese and beer?

When I hear the word "wings", buffalo is the first thing that comes to mind just because that's how it's always been.

It's still my favorite but some of these 14 new flavors by WingStop are threatening to throw it off it's first place pedestal.

#IAMPAULSPERRY | SPERRY X JAWS

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

Handcrafted shoes made for wandering feet.

Since 1935, Sperry has been making shoes for the brave and adventurous. With their non-slip shoes and washable nubuck leather exterior, I can see why.

I haven't lived that long but growing up in the 80's, I remember how huge top-siders were. My uncle had quite a collection in different colors - from brown to green (my personal favorite) and all of us owned at least 1 pair.

That was also the height of "akyat-bahay" gangs and our house was one of many that were robbed during that decade. As luck would have it, my pair was being washed and let to hang dry that evening so it got stolen along with a bunch of laundry, tires and stereo systems of our cars. I don't remember what else of mine was taken aside from that shoe. It was off-white and I loved it. It made me feel like a grown up.

And I guess I never got over it.

I will always be in love with the classic boat shoe but I'm telling you, this brand has a way of pulling at your heartstrings by tapping perfect collaborations that will bring back an undeniable wave of sentiment and nostalgia.

So what else was just as huge as Sperry's during those days? JAWS.

JAWS was everywhere and it was the favorite topic of conversation by top-sider clad teens and yuppies.

JAPAN TRAVEL BUDGET GUIDE | PART 2: FOOD

Tuesday, July 12, 2016

So how much do you need for food and drinks per day while traveling across Japan? Here's a detailed breakdown from high to low.

Like I said in my previous post about transportation, I believe we all travel differently so instead of telling you how much you should prepare, I opted to write about how much things cost so you can decide for yourself how much YEN to bring.

For your reference as of July 9, 2016 | CURRENT CONVERSION RATE: Php 1 = YEN 47

So here we go..find out how much I spent on food and drinks as I traveled from Osaka - Kyoto - Yokohama and Tokyo!

More after the jump! Ps. If you don't feel like reading, scroll all the way to the bottom.

CUSTOM JEWELRY: ULTIMATE INDIVIDUALITY

Customizing: Delivering Differentiation
Social convention today demands people use any means available to differentiate themselves from those around them.  From Facebook properties to personal websites, from mobile telephones to tattoos, people seek to customize everything they can to express who they are and how they are different from everyone else.  Could anything make more of a statement than custom jewellery?  The endless design possibilities make custom jewellery the perfect choice for self-expression and provide the road to ultimate individuality.
As Different as Those Who Wear Them
Custom jewellery pieces, luxury engagement rings are as different as the people who wear them.  Think about this for a minute.  I have often heard it said that no two snowflakes that have ever fallen have been the same.  (How anyone could know this or why it would make a hill of beans worth of difference to anyone is beyond me!)
My point is this. With all the materials available to choose from, with the flexibility of design, with the originality that stems from the flair and imagination of each person designing their unique piece, it isn’t hard to hear the echo of the singular snowflake in the world of custom jewellery.

Everyone IS Different

I have been blessed in my life to have four daughters.  For our purposes here my six year old’s desire for a crown may be somewhat out there.  My twelve year old passed on the notion of any type of custom jewellery at all, undoubtedly the opinion of some.  One of my daughters described the rather ornate design of “some kind of necklace” to include options such as silver and stones, chosen because that is what she most enjoys wearing.  The other twin, really a purist at heart, decided on a one metal ring with a fancy design in it. Why? Because she doesn’t want to wear anything else.
Come to think of it, maybe the crown isn’t so farfetched after all.

#FAUXPASPARISPH: STYLISH RAINY DAY BALLERINAS

Thursday, July 7, 2016

Parisians are known for their effortless style and partiality for classic and versatile key wardrobe pieces.

Clothes and shoes that can be easily mixed, matched and worn with everything, almost everywhere.

The result? Enduring style that transcends decades.

That's how I see Faux Pas Shoes. Not only are they practical (especially for Manila's bipolar weather), they're also cut in a classic way that flatters the feet (even if they're a bit wide like mine).

This afternoon, we got to take our ballerinas to the next level at a #CraftToCharm event held at Le Petit Soufflé.

Check out how we DIY'ed our pairs after the jump!

JAPAN TRAVEL BUDGET GUIDE | PART 1: TRANSPORTATION

Monday, July 4, 2016

I was supposed to do a single post for budget (food, shopping, sightseeing, etc) but as soon as I finished editing my photos, I realized how long and dragging it would be (both for me to write and for you to read) so I decided to break it down into different parts instead.

japan travel budget transportation
Will just add links at the end of this post as soon as I'm done with them all.

Also, instead of telling you how much money you need to allot for traveling around Japan, I've decided to share the price of basic travel necessities (+ some extras) instead so you can tailor it for your own needs.

Budget really depends on travel style so I think this method will work better for everyone when planning a trip.

Case in point: We travelled as 3 friends, same itinerary. At the end of the trip, one friend spent only Php27k, another Php60k and another about Php90k

2ND HAND DESIGNER BAG SHOPPING IN JAPAN (TOKYO + OSAKA)

Friday, July 1, 2016

The rumors are true. Japan is mecca for all things second hand designer.

According to the locals, inventory comes mostly from girls/professional (not sure if sex) workers with rich businessman boyfriends who gift them regularly with bags and other luxury items.

Sometimes they sell when scorned from failed relationships or when they prefer a different style.

So a lot of the bags on display are almost new. Some even with tags.

I knew this even before our trip so I made it my goal to leave with at least one.

Our journey begins in OSAKA.

FAVORITE FINDS FROM PROMOD'S END OF SEASON SALE (UNDER P1500)

There's good reason why this woman is rushing towards the entrance. The competition between women at Promod's ongoing end of season sale is cut-throat. In fact, the demand is so fierce, some lady even stole a blazer from my "to purchase" pile!

(Sneaky b#&%...you know who you are....hahaha :P)
