JURO Salon Exclusif - Review

I found the secret to beautiful, manageable, fuss-free hair and it is located in an unassuming building in Fort Bonifacio. Meet Mr. Jude Hipolito and Ms. Rose Velasco of JURO Salon. The only two names you need to remember when you think "hair".

I'm sure you can all relate to how frustrating "the morning after a haircut" can get. It usually starts out with a visit to a generic salon with a peg handed to your hairstylist. Without a moment's hesitance, he nods and gets right to it. It's styled and you leave the salon somewhat satisfied only to wake up the next day to unruly mushroom hair and no matter what you do or how many hours you dedicate to styling it, you just can't seem to make it behave and look half decent. You think it's your fault but it's not. I resigned myself to the fact that I will always have mushroom hair because of the thick and coarse nature of my mane. I thought I was just born with bad hair and there was really nothing I could do about it...until now.

I realized during my visit to JURO that the problem wasn't my hair, it was the lack of technique used to cut it.  The lack of Precision. Precision Cutting was first introduced in the 1960's by Vidal Sasson. A Precision Cut works with our face shape, head shape and hair quality. Each layer is carefully structured and not a single strand is longer than it should be.

Hair gods - Jude Hipolito and Rose Velasco
Juro Salon Interiors

with my savior, Mr Jude :D
Haircuts at JURO are by appointment only. Mr. Jude and Ms Rose require all clients to undergo a consultation before working on their hair to determine which hairstyle will suit not only their face/hair best but their lifestyle as well. During this consultation period, they will ask you numerous questions that range from when you last had your hair treated to what you do for a living and how much time and effort you are willing to spare to care for your hair. They arm themselves with this information to create a hairstyle that is tailor-made especially for you.

Mr. Jude is a genius with scissors. He doesn't just cut hair, he sculpts it. He has a way with hair that I have not experienced with any other stylist yet (I have tried several renowned stylists who charge in the 1-2K range but none have been able to do what Mr. Jude does). Maybe it is his training at Vidal Sassoon or experience of over 20 years but Mr. Jude does to hair what the Dog Whisperer does to unruly pets. Mr. Jude is the Hair Whisperer. :P

Hair Consultation with Mr. Jude Hipolito
After Mr. Jude creates his magic, it is now time for Ms. Rose to shine. She corrects color and custom mixes  pigments to create a perfect shade that will  flatter your skintone and make it glow.

Ms. Rose's years spent as a trainer and technical consultant for major coloring companies like Wella and L'Oreal show with the confidence and self-assured manner she exudes when mixing her colors. There is not a trace of uncertainty in anything she does and her finished product is nothing short of unbelievable, literally.

color correction by Ms. Rose
Since Ms. Rose was familiar with my background in fashion and blogging and also probably because I showed up with fuschia hair, she decided to stick to my edgy and funky aesthetic by giving me updated purple hair. And it is not only purple hair, it is fifty shades of purple hair. She calls this technique "The Eclipse" since the color changes depending on the lighting and the way you flip your hair. Amazing right? I mean who would've thought chameleon like hair was possible?

Not only did Mr. Jude and Ms. Rose make my ultra-abused and bleached hair look healthy, they also managed to make funky hair look mature, sophisticated and perfect for my age.

Better yet, my hair looks exactly the same way it did days after I stepped out of JURO. I don't even have to blowdry it, it just falls perfectly into place after it air dries, each time, every time! Truly amazing.

The freedom a designer haircut gives you is priceless. For the first time in my life, I never have to worry about my hair anymore. It saves me soo much time. I can just take a shower and dash out. Mr. Jude and Ms. Rose have really changed the way I see 'wash and wear hair". If all stylists were as skilled as them, permanent blowdrys and bad hair days would be nonexistent.

I highly recommend everyone to make a consultation appointment with JURO, it doesn't matter what your hair type is, kinky, flat, stringy, the dynamic duo that is mr. Jude and Ms. Rose will make it behave. It is no wonder that people from all over  fly all the way to Manila just to have their hair done by them. They are truly the best hairstylists in the Philippines. I will NEVER EVER let anyone else touch my hair again!

Thank you so much Mr. Jude, Ms Rose and Team ARC!

Can I just say, wow! I really like your hair color but I don't think I can sport that. Anyways, I'm looking for hair color salons since I'm planning to color my virgin hair. I'm thinking of going to Juro's since you practically sold them to me (haha) can you give me an estimate on how much it would cost me?

Thanks so much! :)
More power to your blog!
Hi Angel, hahaha, really? :) my hair has actually faded since then into a nice warm honey blonde just as ms rose initially planned, she really is amamzing but a little on the pricey side, i think color starts at around P3500, forgot na e, but you can call them first to be sure :)

I want my hair fire truck red with orange highlights but I'm afraid it'll would be a hefty cost at Juro's since I am just a college freshman and I can't afford to get my hair dyed and touched up every 2 months (red hair dye fades so easily, like the color fades more and more with every wash). Where did you get your hair dyed fuschia before? And was the cost just as pricey as Juro's? Thank you! :-)
Love the blog, btw!
Hi Katrina! I did it myself, you can check these posts for a tutorial:
