Before I get into the nightmare of taking my first bikini ootd, can I just say how happy I am with the way the Fujifilm X-M1 camera performs? It is so forgiving no matter how much you edit and crop a photo (I use ribbet.com because I am so techy like that :P). I never would have gotten away with cropping and adjusting the exposure this much with my old Canon. And believe me, with all the against the sun + ant-size shots we ended up with, I needed to edit A LOT to make them look decent enough for an outfit post. (Will share the before and after photos in a different post so you can get what I mean better. :))
These were taken during our mini getaway last weekend at Anvaya Cove in Bataan.
First, let me just say that I never. never. never wanted to post a bikini ootd. NEVER. But an opportunity came and I've been dying to have one of these neoprene TRIANGL bikinis for a long time already so I reluctantly agreed (I'm usually not that easy :P ha-ha).
I only had Dennis to take my photos for me and although the guy means well, he SUCKS BIG TIME at taking photos which is why I rely mostly on my blog friends to shoot me instead for style posts. (He always manages to capture my worst angles and awkward facial expressions :P)
That fact, along with being in a tiny bikini posing (which I suck at big time) for all the world to see really turned me into a big bag of nerves. It's haaarddd! It looks so easy and effortless for some but I don't have a sexy bone in my body, I am more of the playful type, I cannot do sultry for shit :P So good luck with the goddess-like sports illustrated looking ootd's that other fashion bloggers manage to get away with. I am banking on the "hey look, she's the girl next door and I can totally relate to her!" aspect of the situation so I hope you will be kind in your comments.
I blame social media and magazines and my lack of Photoshop skills (and the actual software as well :(() for making me feel this way. They use tall and slender Caucasian models who always manage to make even the ugliest of swimsuits look adorable.
I am neither tall nor slender and I sometimes feel like a little teapot...
But you know what they say, to conquer your fear, you must take the bull by the horns.

Now that the photos are up, I have to say that I feel better, still a bit scared but not so petrified anymore. It took a couple of days but acceptance finally came. I am no model material but I'm not bad for a mother in her mid-30s :)

Whew! This is turning into a looong post...
Enough about feelings let's talk about the bikini...
I usually have a really hard time shopping for bikinis. I always need to buy separates because of my proportions and even then, it's a nightmare to find a top that flatters let alone fits.
I wasn't expecting this to fit either. I never would have dreamed of wearing a tube top bikini especially after giving birth and breastfeeding but lo and behold...when I put it on, it did. That's a small miracle right there. It offers so much support that I was even able to play beach football and jump around in it. Of course I would have to adjust a little bit here and there after a huge jump but nothing popped out :P
The extra thick neoprene material is also super flattering and guarantees zero wedgies and unsightly butt-picking :P
Plus, it also dries up extremely fast, 10x faster than your average bikini.
After having been in a Triangl Bikini, I don't want to put on anything else. It's modern fabric ingenuity in a nice little eye-catching package.

I could care less what she does, she looks great anyway. So, it's only natural that she sells. ^_^
They're just jealous coz they can't do what she can.
